This is an intensive 2-day / 1-night cultural program with full board on the island, covering the three main islands on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca.
Day 1 begins in Puno at approximately 7:40 a.m. with a boat transfer to the Uros Floating Islands. The journey then continues toward the remote Amantani Island, where travelers are welcomed by local host families for lunch and room assignments. In the afternoon, a hike to the sacred peaks of Pachatata and Pachamama offers a spectacular sunset over the lake. The evening wraps up with a traditional dinner and an optional local celebration featuring music and traditional dances.
Day 2 begins at approximately 6:00 a.m. with breakfast alongside the host family, followed by the boat trip to Taquile Island. After an approximately 40-minute walk, passengers visit the island’s plazas and receive a guided explanation of Taquile’s famous social organization and UNESCO-recognized textile art. A traditional lunch prepared by the islanders is included before the long return voyage to Puno, approximately two hours and twenty minutes.
Itinerary – Uros, Taquile & Amantani Islands 2 Day Tour
Day 1 : Puno – Uros Floating Islands – Amantani Island – Pachatata / Pachamama
Very early in the morning, at approximately 7:40 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in central Puno and transfer you to the dock. At around 8:00 a.m. we set sail on the lake. Our first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, where we will learn about the lifestyle of the residents, their ancestral customs, and have the opportunity to ride a traditional totora-reed boat (additional cost). We then continue our boat journey toward Amantani Island, approximately one hour and fifty minutes away.
A local family will greet you, show you to your room, and invite you to enjoy a traditional regional lunch. In the afternoon, at approximately 3:30 p.m., we will begin a roughly 40-minute hike up to the sacred peaks of Pachamama and Pachatata to witness an unforgettable sunset over the lake. As evening falls, we return to the family homes to enjoy a traditional dinner. After dinner, anyone who wishes to can join a small local celebration with traditional music and folk dances.
Day 2 : Amantani Island – Taquile Island – Return to Puno
Very early, at approximately 6:00 a.m., we will wake up to enjoy our final breakfast with the host families. We say our goodbyes and board the boat again, heading toward Taquile Island, approximately one hour and fifty minutes away. Upon arrival, we begin a walk toward the main plaza, during which we take in the lake’s scenery and observe the distinctive traditional clothing of the Taquile people (UNESCO Heritage). At the plaza, we have time to learn about their communal customs, admire their famous weavings, and, if the timing allows, join in on their traditional dances.
We then enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the residents of Taquile. Finally, at approximately 1:30 p.m., we begin the return boat journey to Puno, approximately two hours and twenty minutes, arriving at the dock at approximately 3:50 p.m. Our transport will take passengers to their respective hotels or near the Plaza de Armas.
