Itinerary – Colca Canyon 2D/1N Tour

📍 Day 1 : Arequipa - National Reserve - Chivay - Hot Springs

Our tour begins with pickup from hotels in Arequipa between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM to head toward the spectacular Colca Canyon. Along the way, we will pass by the Yura cement factory and then enter the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve – Pampa Cañahuas, where we can observe all four South American camelids: vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and guanacos. From this point, you can also contemplate the rear of the majestic Misti and Chachani volcanoes. We will continue our route, making a brief stop at the El Chinito tourist restaurant to enjoy a coca tea that will help us acclimatize to the altitude of 12,795–13,123 ft / 3,900–4,000 m.a.s.l. Around midday, we will arrive in Chivay, the capital of Caylloma province. Once settled at the hotel, we will have time for lunch and later, in the afternoon (approx. 3:30 PM), we will visit the famous La Calera Hot Springs, where you can relax in their medicinal waters.

📍 Day 2 : Chivay - Cruz Del Condor View Point - Colca Villages - Return To Arequipa

Very early, we will depart from Chivay to the picturesque village of Yanque, where we will enjoy their local dances and customs. Then, we will continue to the famous Cruz del Condor viewpoint, the ideal place to appreciate the canyon’s immensity and, with luck, observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor. We will stay here for about an hour to enjoy this natural spectacle. On the return route to Chivay, we will make brief stops at the traditional villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Achoma, from where you can also enjoy impressive views of the entire Colca Valley.
