The Splendor of Ausangate Peak — This is a full-day adventure combining an early drive, demanding trekking, and relaxation. The day begins with a very early pickup from your hotel in Cusco, heading to the community of Pacchanta (approximately a 2-hour drive), located at the foot of the snow-capped peak. In Pacchanta, you will enjoy a local breakfast (included, not buffet) to acclimatize before starting the hike. The guided hike begins from the community, following the circuit that connects the seven main lagoons. The total duration of the trek is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours (round trip), reaching a maximum altitude of 4,700 m.a.s.l. Upon completing the circuit, you will return to Pacchanta for a local lunch (included, à la carte). You will have free time to rest or, if you wish, visit the community’s Thermal Baths. The return to Cusco will be in the afternoon, ending near the Plaza de Armas.

📍 Day 1 : Cusco - Pacchanta - 7 Lagoons Route - Return Cusco

The day begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. with our guide. After boarding the vehicle, you will head toward the community of Pacchanta, a journey that takes around 3 hours. Upon arrival, we will stop for a local breakfast (limited options). After breakfast and with all the guide’s instructions, the 7 Lagoons adventure will begin at approximately 8:10 a.m.

The hike is a circuit with a total duration of 3 to 3.5 hours (depending on the group’s pace). The guide will offer tips on managing the altitude while you explore the area and admire the seven main lagoons, including Pucacocha, Patacocha, Alqacocha, and Qomercocha. Once the circuit is complete, we will return to the Pacchanta restaurant to enjoy an à la carte lunch (not buffet) at around 12:30 p.m. The staff will offer a menu of options and a muña herbal tea to aid digestion at altitude.

After lunch, you will have 1 hour of free time to rest, explore the Pacchanta community, or relax at the Thermal Baths (entrance fee is extra and paid directly on-site). Finally, around 3:10 p.m. / 3:30 p.m., we will begin the return journey to the city of Cusco. The tour will end near the Plaza de Armas (Plaza Regocijo or Plaza San Francisco) in the early evening (approximately 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.).
