Over View – ATV Rainbow Mountain Tour (Pitumarca Short Route)
This is an intense but thrilling full-day adventure that will take you above 5,000 m.a.s.l. (16,404 ft). The day begins at 4:00 a.m. with a hotel pickup and transfer to the Pitumarca route. Along the way, you will enjoy a Buffet Breakfast (included) at a tourist restaurant in Cusipata.
Once at the ATV departure point (around 8:40 a.m.), the guide will give you riding instructions and safety gear. The ATV ascent takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes and will drop you very close to the Mountain. From the end of the ATV route, it is only about a 5-minute walk on flat terrain to the first viewpoint. You can then ascend to the second viewpoint — the highest point — for a 360-degree panoramic view and the majestic Ausangate Snow-Capped Peak.
The tour includes an optional hike to the Red Valley (if open and with a separate entrance fee). On the way back, you will enjoy a full Buffet Lunch (included) in Cusipata before heading back to Cusco, finishing in the afternoon.
Day 1 : Cusco - Cusipata - Checacupe - Pitumarca - Predio Vinincunca - Rainbow Mountai - Return Cusco
The day begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. by our guide. We will head to Cusipata (approx. 2-hour drive). At 6:10 a.m., we will stop for a full Buffet Breakfast (included).
After refueling, we continue along the Pitumarca route (approx. 1.3 more hours) to the ATV starting point. Around 8:40 a.m., the guide will give detailed instructions on safe ATV riding (including gear-shift models).
The ATV ascent begins — an exciting 20 to 25-minute ride with panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Upon reaching the end of the ATV route, only a 5-minute flat walk remains to the first Rainbow Mountain viewpoint.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., the group will arrive at the Rainbow Mountain. The guide will offer an explanation at the first viewpoint, and you will then have the option to ascend to the second and highest viewpoint (5,036 m.a.s.l. / 16,522 ft) for the best views of Vinicunca and Ausangate Snow-Capped Peak.
After photos and explanations, we will return to the ATVs to descend to the bus. We return to the restaurant in Cusipata for the Buffet Lunch (included), scheduled at 1:30 p.m. After the delicious lunch and a muña herbal tea, we will begin the return to Cusco at 2:30 p.m. / 2:50 p.m. The tour will end near the Plaza de Armas on San Bernardo Street between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.

Cancellation Policies – ATV Tour Rainbow Mountain (Pitumarca Short Route)
The ATV service to the Rainbow Mountain is subject to the following conditions:
- Reservations & Payments
- To confirm the reservation, a 50% deposit of the total amount is required.
- The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the passenger.
- The remaining balance must be paid 1 day before the start of the service.

- No Show (failure to appear): 100% of the service will be charged.
