This is an intense yet rewarding full-day tour, with a total duration of approximately 12 hours. The day begins very early with a hotel pickup in Cusco.

The drive is long, with a stop in Mollepata to enjoy a Buffet Breakfast (included) and recharge your energy. The route continues to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Here you will need to pay the community entrance fee.

The uphill hike takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes and is of moderate difficulty, mainly due to the altitude (4,200 m.a.s.l. / 13,780 ft). Upon arriving at the lake, you will have time to rest, explore the viewpoints, and enjoy the views. After the visit, you will descend back to Soraypampa. The return to Mollepata includes a full Buffet Lunch (included) before heading back to Cusco in the afternoon.

📍 Day 1 Día 01: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa - Humantay Lake - Return Cusco

We will start the day with a hotel pickup in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. Your guide will accompany you throughout the entire tour. After nearly a 2-hour drive, we will stop at a restaurant in Mollepata.

Around 6:10 a.m., you will have 40 minutes for your Buffet Breakfast (included), with a variety of options and warm Andean herbal teas. After breakfast, we will continue the drive for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Before setting off, the guide will inform you about the community entrance fee.

Upon arriving at Soraypampa (approx. 8:30 a.m.), the guide will give final instructions to begin the ascent. The hike will last approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes until reaching Humantay Lake at 4,200 m.a.s.l. (13,780 ft). Once at the top, you will have time to rest, take photos, and explore the different viewpoints.

After enjoying the views, you will descend to Soraypampa to board the transport. We will return to the same restaurant in Mollepata for the Buffet Lunch (included), scheduled at approximately 12:00 p.m. After enjoying a delicious lunch and a muña herbal tea for digestion, we will begin the return journey to the city of Cusco. The return to Cusco starts around 3:30 p.m., and the tour will end near the Plaza de Armas in the early afternoon.

The Humantay Lake tour takes place in a high-mountain area (above 4,200 m.a.s.l.) and is subject to the following conditions:

  • You can book your tour without a deposit and pay the full balance 1 day before the trip.
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer or in person at our offices in Cusco.
  • You can also secure your reservation with a 50% deposit, which is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
  1. Cancellations
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance: no refund applies.
  • No Show (failure to appear on the day of the tour): 100% of the contracted service will be charged.
  • In the event of voluntary withdrawal during the hike, there will be no partial or full refund.
  1. Date Changes
  • Date changes are permitted with at least 48 hours’ notice, subject to availability.
  • An administrative fee may apply depending on the season.
  1. Weather Conditions & Force Majeure
  • The tour depends on high-mountain weather conditions.
